Ha! Sometimes it’s just too funny where you end up when you fall down the research rabbit hole sometimes….
I saw this on Twitter from @Athenos
So I, of course, went to their website and saw they do, in fact have 11 flavors:
- roasted red pepper
- roasted garlic
- spicy three pepper
- Greek style
- artichoke & garlic
- black olive
- roasted eggplant
- cucumber dill
Wait. Roasted eggplant? Never noticed that flavor before. Fascinated.
…so i retweeted, and my friend Jessica tweeted back..
well then i realized I had no stinkin clue what “babaghanoush” was.. so I had to GTS (google that shit.. )
and I came across the Wikipedia page.
“Baba ghanoush, baba ganush, baba ghannouj or baba ghannoug (Arabic بابا غنوج bābā ghanūj) is a Levantine dish of aubergine (eggplant) mashed and mixed with virgin olive oil and various seasonings. A popular preparation method is for the eggplant to be baked or broiled over an open flame before peeling, so that the pulp is soft and has a smoky taste. Often, it is eaten as a dip with khubz or pita bread, and is sometimes added to other dishes. It is usually of an earthy light-brown color. It is popular in the Levant and Egypt.“
well…I’m guessing that IS pretty darn close to the same thing…that was kinda boring, and i couldn’t really tell what it looked like so i went back to google and googled images..
and then saw this..
