Jennifer over at Gluten Free Jacksonville needs YOUR help!
She’s been asked by the North Florida Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to put together a basket of gluten free goodies for their upcoming Miracles in the Moonlight Gala on October 22.
Did you know that many people diagnosed with Type I Diabetes can also have Celiac Disease?
Yeah, neither did I.
So I’m asking any of my possible Gluten-Free readers/bakers to chip in and help her put together a Jacksonville basket that can be auctioned off at their gala!
Here’s what she’s looking to put in the basket:
– Non-perishable food items that are “certified gluten-free”
– Gift certificates to restaurants that have gluten-free offerings and take extra precautions for those with celiac disease
– unused books or resources
Check out her post for more information. She has a great blog with a wealth of information about Celiac Disease, which without her, I wouldn’t know anything about all this. (I don’t have celiac disease)
If you live in Jacksonville, she’s offered to pick up the goodies. Or I’m sure you could mail her things as well. Reach out to her through her blog to coordinate.
Do you know anyone with Celiac Disease and/or that is gluten-sensitive?
